Ronil Chandra
Associate Professor Ronil V. Chandra is an academic NeuroInterventional Radiologist at Monash Health and Monash University. He is the Deputy Program Director for Monash Health Imaging, one of Australia’s largest public hospital departments, where his focus is on improving quality, safety and consumer experience in Radiology. He is a practicing NeuroInterventional Radiologist, and Head of NeuroInterventional Radiology Service at Monash Health, where he and his team treat patients with stroke, brain aneurysms and other neurovascular conditions of the brain and spinal cord using minimally invasive techniques. Ronil has led the introduction of Endovascular Clot Retrieval (ECR) a lifesaving time critical therapy for stroke patients to Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service. The service now provides statewide service for patients across the South-East of Victoria. He also volunteers with the National Stroke Foundation, serving as a content expert for the Australian Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Management, and on the National Stroke Foundation Research Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Interventional Radiology Committee for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and represents Victorian members on the Council of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology. His research expertise in Neurovascular conditions has led to grant funding as chief investigator from the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, and The Medical Research Future Fund. Ronil actively leads institutional and international clinical trials at Monash Health as principal investigator. He has authored or co-authored >200 publications and serves on the Research Endowment Scientific Committee for the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology.
