Background: Clinical practice guidelines recommend for stroke survivors to continue with active task practice outside of scheduled therapy. Existing, paper-based resources have poor uptake with patients undergoing inpatient rehabilitation after stroke. Adapting existing resources to digital formats has the potential to improve motivation and patient engagement. In this session we will steps through the development of the DigiRaS (Digital Resources after Stroke) program on a rehabilitation ward of a metropolitan hospital in Melbourne.

Objectives:
1. To outline the iterative development of the DigiRaS intervention including tips on stakeholder engagement.
2. Explore staff training needs and ways to overcome perceived and actual barriers to implementation.
3. Outline a plan for testing feasibility, acceptability and promise of efficacy from patient and staff perspective.

Approach:
1. Set the scene: Evidence for digital interventions in an inpatient setting after stroke as well as evidence for adapting existing resources utilising principles from Banduras Theory of Motivation to improve self-efficacy and self-management.

2. Outline patient and staff engagement in the iterative co-design process.

3. Protocol for delivery of intervention: Showcase device set up, inclusions in the monitoring kit and role of the prescriber for program set up and sustainability.

4. Demonstrate created content including content for patients from a non-English speaking background.

5. Discuss protocol for a Bayesian optimal Phase 2 'promise of efficacy' trial.

Key Practice Points:
This session will showcase the process undertaken to adapt existing paper-based resources into accessible digital resources for staff to use in supporting patients to be more active during inpatient rehabilitation after stroke.
